Scan your registry for errors and repair it with Registry Smoker. Select between Deep Scan and Safe Scan and the program will display a list of invalid entries containing the Status, RootKey, Subkey and Value. You may choose to delete all the items in the list or you can delete only the selected items.

Pluses: Backups are created automatically when you delete items from the registry, so that you can undo the changes that you performed with the registry.

Drawbacks / flaws: No registry defragmentation, no problem description.
