If we got software for capturing video streaming, why not have something for capturing audio streaming. Record-Anything can do this for you. You just need to choose the source of the sound (wave, inline, microphone) and the capture will begin.

The application will run in background. Only a small interface will let you change the settings of the application such as sound quality, input volume and input channels. The input volume can be optimized by a wizard integrated in the application. That's because a non optimized volume can get a distorted sound in the audio file.

Because a mp3 compression cannot be made in real time, the WAV format will be used to capture the sound. By clicking just once on the icon of the application, the recording will begin. By clicking again on it, the recording will be stoppped and a popup window will ask you where to save the audio file. This window includes also a tag writer where you can edit the title of the track, the album, etc. Only at this point the application will save the audio file into the mp3 format. For every new saved file, a popup will appear that will announce you the end of conversion and a link will let you play the file immediatly.

Pluses: works in the background; records any sound that runs through your sound card; easy to control the process only by one click;

Drawbacks / flaws: it's not for free;

In conclusion: Beware that not all the websites allow their content to be recorded. So pay attention where you will use this software.
